The Union Peru Officeis looking for a Country Director to ensure a high standard of strategic program development and operational activity in support of the parent organisation s core strategic framework. Reporting to the head of the organisation and in close collaboration with other senior staff, the Country Director in Peru will provide overall leadership and management of all programme activities of the office in Peru, as well as oversee the development, funding and implementation of the country strategy. S/he will also provide necessary support and facilitation to all regional and global programme activities in Peru.

Tertiary qualifications in a related field, or able to demonstrate substantial equivalent experience. Ideally, formal qualifications in Public Health, with legal or other relevant degree qualifications.
Minimum 10 years professional experience in health programme management, monitoring and evaluation and provision and management of health services.
Proven capabilities in leadership, strategic planning, program development and management including M&E, organisational management particularly human resources and financial management, and partnership building and resource mobilisation
Experience in resource-limited and politically sensitive countries, preferably in Latin America, with local knowledge and a strong network of contacts in Peru.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with donor and technical agencies such as USAID and the World Health Organization as well as with host-country government.
Strong skills in negotiation.
Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, preferably with a history of conducting on-the-record interviews with news media. Comfortable speaking to large groups.
Willingness to communicate with staff and colleagues on a regular basis both in situ and remotely.
Willingness and ability to travel in Peru and outside the country if necessary.
Identifies with the organisation s vision and mission, and core values.

Peru: Fundraising Coordinator

The fundraising component of LAFF's work aims to increase funds from Trusts and Foundations, schools and universities in order to financially support LAFF's programmes. Working with LAFFF's communications coordinator, this fundraising focused role maintains and improves LAFF's international and local visibility through innovative strategies and raises awareness about various socioeconomic problems, in particular those affecting young people in Peru, in order to increase local and international funding support. The fundraising strategy consists of identifying fundraising possibilities; writing proposals to trusts, foundations and businesses; and engaging with schools and universities. Focus is also placed on ensuring that all funders receive updated information and appropriate gratitude/recognition for their support.
Plan, develop, and carry our LAFF's fundraising activities
Research potential funding opportunities and draft funding proposals with the participation of other LAFF team members, depending on the programme area
Ensure all current donors are recognised for their support and are well informed of progress on the ground through timely and relevant reports and updates
Launch campaigns encouraging fundraising activities for LAFF's supporters
Manage and develop LAFF's ambassadors programme
Maintain and update a fundraising strategy
Ensure that the fundraising practices reflect the priorities, mission and vision of LAFF.
Network and forge links with relevant stakeholders and organisations (including current and potential donors, companies, trusts, foundations, schools and universities and other supporters) to ensure continued support for existing and new initiatives and the engagement of our supporters in all fundraising activities
Ensure that all supporters have regular contact with the young people they are supporting
Undergraduate degree (or currently enrolled in) Languages, International relations, marketing or a related field.
A year work or experience in fundraising is highly desirable
Excellent spoken and written English
Intermediate or advanced Spanish skills desirable
Excellent attention to detail
Interest in acquiring communications or international development experience
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Highly organised, flexible, independent, an culturally sensitive, with the ability to multitask
