Vacancy Background

ICMP currently carries out a project in Iraq that wants to build a knowledge base to implement a missing persons process in Iraq. The project is managed through ICMP Center for Excellence and Learning (CEL), a dedicated repository of expertise that provides training and support to stakeholders inside Iraq. The project derives from the activities that the ICMP has been implementing with Iraqi institutions and organizations and aims to increase the skills of Iraqi officials, technical experts, civil society members and others in the area of missing persons. The ultimate objective of the project is to assist Iraq in developing a sustainable process to account for missing persons in an impartial, credible and transparent manner and in line with international standards.


Reporting to the Head of Program (Iraq), and working in close coordination with the CEL Manager in HQ, the Training Coordinator main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Act as a point-of-contact for vendors, participants and trainers

Manage registrations and respond to inquiriesConduct regular outreach via phone and email to invite prospective participants to training, events and/or webinarPlan, advertise, coordinate, execute and follow-up on all training eventsManage all event operations (sourcing venue locations, preparing venue, set-up, clean-up, etc.)Ensure course materials are available for training in a timely and accurate manner by assisting L&D officer with drafting training materials, PowerPoint presentations, training aids, etc.Ensure that course content is updated as requiredAdminister and analyze data collected through participant feedback surveysDevelop and maintain strong relationships with speakers, subject matter experts,and external service providersProactively handle any issues and troubleshoot problems prior to and on the day of execution for training, webinars and eventsMaintain training records (e.g. trainee lists, schedules, attendance sheets) specific to the L&D Iraq programManage training equipmentManage ICMP training calendar for L&D activities in IraqMaintain updated curriculum database and training recordsMaintain a dashboard to track training, L&D events and webinar registrations, actual number of attendees, and product engagement and conversion metricsAdminister the online learning training platform including registering and deregistering participants, acting as help desk to participants, etcOther related duties as assigned.RequirementsStudies in Education, Training or related fieldAt least six years of work experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Assistant or similar roleTraining event administration experienceAdequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery toolsProven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignmentsExcellent communication and negotiation skills

Mandatory requirements

Professional written and spoken fluency in English and Arabic is essential; knowledge of Kurdish is highly desirable

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point

Proven ability to interact positively with colleagues and external partners regardless of culture, nationality or gender

Ability to travel at short notice and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Commitment to the underlying objective of helping the authorities and families of the missing to account for missing persons in an impartial and transparent manner

Physical and mental resilience, with the ability to operate effectively in hostile environments

Willingness and ability to work and live in hardship conditions with limited infrastructure and personal privacy


This is a full-time position with a competitive base salary at the LES 6 level on the ICMP Iraq salary scale, generous paid leave and extensive health insurance benefits for the incumbent and any eligible dependent.

This position is not eligible for expatriate allowances.
