We work directly with our beneficiaries or through local and international partners. We constantly strive to strengthen the relevance, effect and sustainability of our programmes.

In Iraq, Mission East provides assistance to conflict affected populations including internally displaced people, remainees and returnees. Our current programme includes NFI, shelter improvements, WASH assistance, livelihoods support and protection through psychosocial support activities delivered at multi-purpose community centres.

The protection component of Mission East Iraq activities consists mainly of community-based psychosocial support activities focused on children, youth and other at-risk groups. In Dohuk these activities are implemented through a local partner, while in other locations the implementation is direct.

Other protection activities include case management via Family Protection Units, to identify and ensure appropriate referrals/additional support to individuals requiring specialized services.
