PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of the position is to build the capacity of World Vision s field staff, within the scope of CPHA program humanitarian action. The goal is to enhance WV s interventions in CPHA to benefit vulnerable children and their families.

The CPHA Capacity Building officer is fully responsible for proper delivery, documentation and monitoring of trainings and conducting monitoring visits through spot checks and supervision as well as coaching field teams on CPHA proper methods of intervention as per applicable standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle the Design of the CPHA Capacity Building Plan.

Assess the technical needs of WV s CPHA field staff, partners, local NGOs and CBOs in terms of capacity building.

Contribute in choosing the appropriate reference material to be adopted in the planned trainings.

Design trainings relevant to field staff, Casual workers, teachers, animators, stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries in coordination with CP technical officers and CPHA specialist (CP, MHPSS, GBV, CM, PFA topics )

Develop training schedules in consultation with project teams taking into consideration the implementation plan.

In coordination with CPHA specialist support the design of age, appropriate PSS/CP curricula for different target groups.

Attend design workshops and Assist in technical proposals writing based on feedback from the field.

CPHA projects are designed in line with international and local best practices and according to WV s strategy

Quality curricula and modules finalized and rolled out through coaching sessions

Sound proposal solutions responding to needs as assessed

Ensure the Implementation of the capacity building plan

Deliver trainings to target trainees as per the developed plans and guidance of the CPHA specialist.

Continuously adapt and maintain training material based on learning and experience.

Conduct weekly visits to CPHA project sites and ensure proper and regular technical supervision and coaching to staff and casual workers.

Ensure quality implementation is always in line with WV s strategy and focus.

Quality trainings implemented and reported on within the planned project timeframe and budget and according to the needs.

Evidence for increase in quality of frontline CP/PSS sessions implementation, reporting and identification and referral skills.

Handle Information Management / Reporting

Prepare weekly reports and keep track of the weekly progress towards targets.

In coordination with CP technical officers ensure field staff are properly reporting on conducted sessions.

Review reports developed monthly, weekly by field staff and share feedback with Project Managers and CPHA specialist.

Provide regular reports on progress of trainings and targets reached to P&C.

Well-managed and clear databases are being used to plan, monitor, and modify the interventions.

Support CP Safeguarding

Support in Ensuring project teams and partners are always acting in line with WV s CP Safeguarding policy and procedures.

Support WV s Safeguarding focal point through reporting and systems strengthening.

Support the referral focal points in CPHA areas of intervention through service mapping and linkages.

Beneficiaries attending WV s CPHA activities are not harmed during the process

Incidents are reported on objectively and on time

Beneficiaries are referred and follow up is done by referral focal points on time following appropriate standards and procedures

Be an active member of World Vision staff.

Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally as required.

Attend and participate in WVL s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant fields

4-6 Years of experience in similar training delivery roles in similar topics of CP, MHPSS, CM and GBV.

Experience in NGOs, preferably in implementing capacity building or CPHA programs involving assessments, design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation and monitoring

Experience working collaboratively in a team.

Experience in coordinating activities with partners and delivery of capacity building content to staff, partners and vulnerable population.

Detail-oriented personality

Strong English and Arabic communication skills (oral and written)

Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity with proficient prosocial skills

Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment

Ability to maintain performance expectations in psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources

Ability to use a computer, with word-processing and spreadsheets, (e.g. Microsoft Office)

Independent, Self-Starter and creative and able to work without supervision

Full adherence to security protocols

Experienced in capacity building, supervision of CP activities, community mobilization and the ability to manage meetings with beneficiaries, community leader s, government officials, NGOs and other stakeholders (ensuring gender balance in participation).

A high level of diplomacy and networking skills is required.

75% field work, 25% office based
