The Urban Disaster Resilience Programme Manager leads in the overall coordination of Plan International Philippines' Urban Disaster Resilience Programme. S/He will develop and maintain strategic partnerships, and lead in coordination and networking in the National Capital Region and other urban contexts in the Philippines in pursuit of program goals and adherence to the grant and donor requirements, agreements, and standards, including Plan s Child-Centered Community Development Approach. This role is for an initial two years and is based in Metro Manila, with constant field work to Plan International Philippines' program areas.

Some of the key responsibilities are: 1.) Directly manage or support designated manager on implementation of Urban Disaster Resilience program and individual projects within it; 2.) Support Plan International Philippines' emergency response to natural and human-induced disasters, including short and longer-term deployments as Emergency Response Manager or other key function as required; 3.) Drive innovation and contribute to transformation efforts through Plan s Programme and projects based on state-of-the-art/science and knowledge of good practice approaches; 4.) Assess capacity-building needs of staff, teams, and partners, and make corresponding capacity-building recommendations; 5.) Lead technical inputs to urban programming, and Disaster Resilience related proposals; 6.) Support to define Plan s policy advocacy and influencing agenda and strategy on urban issues, particularly for girls, and; 7.) Build relationships, collaborate with partners at the national and regional levels and provide leadership to promote knowledge sharing, learning, and complementation of resources, and collaboration for greater impact


University Graduate in Disaster Risk Management, relevant Social Sciences, Community Development, Urban Planning/ Programming or related courses; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A postgraduate degree is an advantage.Relevant training in Project Management, Participatory Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Organizing/Community Development; Program/ Project Management; Participatory Rapid/ Rural Appraisal; Disaster Risk Reduction; People ManagementHas at least six (6) years experience in development or humanitarian work, in a technical capacity on Disaster Resilience or related field, with at least three (3) years managerial experience.Has relevant experience and training in a rights-based approach to development, project proposal development, project management, training design, and humanitarian response.Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.Has an ability to work within a diverse working culture and environment.Applicants must be eligible to work in the Philippines.
