UNICEF engages in strong advocacy, communication and fundraising campaigns that connect key audiences with UNICEF s brand, global events and engage alliances and movements for the achievement of the results for children. Private sector fundraising activities contribute to the visibility of children rights and promotion of positive social norms and generate public support to engage in support to children.

Work Assignment Overview:

The private sector communication consultant will be required to assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the advocacy and communication strategy to support the private sector engagement within UNICEF Serbia Country Programme.

Duration of the assignment: 11.5 months(June 2019 May 2020), full-time engagement

Detailed task description:

Task 1: Assist Fundraising Specialist in the production of communication products and materials to be timely executed and followed up in support of country communication strategy and priorities and in line with the Private Sector Plan for Serbia, as per the following:

Assist in drafting and editing articles, press releases, adaptation of human interest stories, letters to donors, speeches and other advocacy/information materials, including Newsletters for business and individual donors, to fit private sector communication goals and meet the country and global standards;Follow-up on the production of advocacy and communication materials (scenarios for the events, videos, editorials) and oversee the qualitative aspects of production to meet the standards as set out in the Communication toolkit;Recommend appropriate information and communication materials for use in media, and other advocacy and communication activities in support of Private Sector Plan.

Key audiences: individuals, business sector, media, celebrities and influencers.

Task 2: Support Fundraising Specialist in the execution of communication plans with corporate and private sector partners through provision and share of information that demonstrate the impact and outcomes of UNICEF and partners investments to secure sustainable partnerships, as per the following:

Assist in the preparation of documentation and communication materials related to corporate partnerships;Assist with the preparation of the scenarios and execution of the media events in support of corporate and private sector partnerships;Assist with the preparation and execution of communication initiatives among various stakeholders, including business networks and forums, government institutions, media and celebrities.

Task 3: Provide communication support related to promotion and advocacy on CSR focused on children by sharing UNICEF developed CSR tools with national CSR networks and established alliances related to promotion of CSR focused on children, as per the following:

Assist in the preparation of information on the guidelines and tools on business impact on children (quarterly);Disseminate examples of good practices (global and local) that promote the business tools in support of Child Rights;Assist in preparation of articles for business magazines and business events/conferences that include the respective UNICEF s tools on Business Principles and Child Rights.

Task 4: Recommend and establish media channels and networks to support UNICEF s activities and initiatives around private sector engagement in support of child rights:

Assist UNICEF to be engaged within the leading philanthropic forums and networks;Assist in the production of communication materials in support of the promotion of culture of giving, business social impact, voluntarism and social engagement of celebrities.

Task 5: Provide communication support in promotion of the concept of partnerships that achieve social impact at scale and deliver strategic economic value for business, as per the following:

Produce and place the articles on good examples (global and local) of business engagement with UNICEF in support of Child Rights;Assist with the promotion of the idea doing good is good for business through business networks, conferences and key note speeches by UNICEF s officials.Assist with the dissemination of communication materials developed by UNICEF in promotion of Shared Value Partnerships (SVP).

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

Ten years of professional work experience in Public Relations, Marketing and promotionProven familiarity and established contacts with the media scene in SerbiaCore Values: Commitment, Diversity and Inclusion, IntegrityCore Competencies: Communication, Working with People, Drive for ResultsFunctional Competencies: Planning and organizing, Influencing, Following instructions and proceduresExcellent communication skills in English and Serbian languages, both written and spoken
