JOB OVERVIEW

The Digital Production Coordinator provides strategic direction to the MSF Lebanon Branch office on multimedia production and online/ social media and distribution strategies. S/he has a strong mid-level team management skills-set and has experience in leading, supporting and supervising a team.

S/he has technical proficiency in video and design production, and possesses a talent and aptitude for stimulating creative thinking, story-telling and developing concepts into engaging communications products.

S/he will be responsible for the management of the Multimedia Producerand Digital Engagement and Outreach Officer.

S/he develops policies and standards for digital content in different formats and makes sure these policies and standards are always applied to safeguard MSF s institutional identity. S/he also ensures coherence and synergies in all phases of production for public digital communications materials.

S/he provides professional support and offers guidance within the MSF Lebanon Branch office on multimedia content production and will provide support to MSF operations and field teams in Lebanon and the MENA region on how to produce audiovisual content, including Arabizing communications materials, when required. S/he is accountable to the Head Communications, who has to sign off on and validate all materials prior to publishing.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSABILITIES

1.Strategy and planning

Provide leadership and strategic vision for MSF Lebanon s digital content production;Develop policies and standards, including quality standards, for video and cross-media content;Identify, propose and develop strategies and formats to maximize MSF Lebanon s content production;Support the Head of Communications in creating and defining the annual plan, monitoring its implementation and ensuring strategic objectives goals are reached;Define, manage and monitor the audiovisual and creative content budget and expenses/investments to optimize resources;Predict future needs and generate capacity to fulfill future institutional challenges, including problem solving;Stimulate the spirit and capacity for creative thinking;Generate comprehensive statistics and reports based on analytics to identify risks, opportunities and priorities for MSF Lebanon s audiovisual strategies;Provide support and guidance on audiovisual content production when required;Ensure a pool of external service providers for both production or post-production work;Organize visits by to MSF projects in the country and possibly the MENA region to film or, when relevant, contract external cameramen or film crews;Develop and maintain a network of key actors to contact in order to distribute and ensure the usage of the digital and audiovisual content as well the Friends of MSF network in Lebanon and Cairo.

2.Coordination

Meet regularly with other departments (i.e. Field Human Resources team, Advocacy and Medical focal points) to coordinate production of online and at times offline content that meets MSF Lebanon s common objectivities and priorities;Identify and produce audiovisual and cross-media content for public communication purposes in coordination with colleagues in the region and the movement;Oversee the outsourcing of audiovisual and cross-media content production, ensuring coherence and synergies in the production of both online and offline content for public communications, safeguarding MSF s identity and independence;Ensure application of policies and standards for audiovisual content, as well as those for offline content;Participate in MSF s international working groups;Coordinate and network with audiovisual managers/teams in MSF operational centers and offices;Ensure uploading of MSF Lebanon s contents into MSF s international Media Data-Base.

3.HR Management

Line-manage Multimedia Producer and Engagement and Outreach Officer;In collaboration with the Head of Communications, organize the work flow and production planning of the entire communications team, supervise and provide support to team members to ensure the achievement of identified priorities;Organize and chair weekly team meetings and bi-laterals with each member;Guarantee the Department s performance during holidays, sick leave days, etc.;Identify multimedia training needs within MSF Lebanon communications staff and occasionally, organize internal training / briefing sessions,

Qualifications

Background in Audiovisual, Communications, Journalism or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in professional production and editing of audiovisual content and news editing (photo and video), according to broadcast standards.Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate a team.Familiar with new audiovisual formats.Professional experience working with social media platforms and tools. Experience managing complex audiovisual projects, including with external contractors.Experience developing audiovisual and digital strategies within a large and complex organisation.Experience managing and following up a budget.Previous experience in the international humanitarian sector an advantage.Fluent in English. Arabic preferable. French an asset. MSF experience an asset. Excellent command of video editing tools: Adobe Premiere (Creative Suite).Knowledge of compressing techniques for video and audio for web use.Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, InDesign and other graphics editing software.Good writing and story-telling skills for scripts, captions and subtitling.Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines.Creativity and sense of initiative.Availability to work outside office hours when required.Cross-cultural Awareness and Flexibility.Analytical Thinking.Information Seeking and Handling.Quality and Results oriented.Planning and Organising skills.
