Chemonics-Deutschland seeks a full-time research specialist for its Syria Regional Program, which aims to help build a moderate, inclusive, and stable Syria. The research specialist will track developments in Syria and conduct research on various areas in Syria to support programming and analysis. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

Conduct ongoing research to support programming and analysis and maintain strong understanding and awareness of the political, social, and economic development in various areas in SyriaDraft ad-hoc reports on emerging issues and trendsSupport the program team to identify new partners and sectors for programming


Bachelor s degree requiredThree to five years of experience working for a donor or donor-funded program dedicated to early recovery, conflict resolution, media, or a related field preferredExperience conducting research and analysis for technical programmingSocial and political knowledge of current events in SyriaProven ability to work independently and produce deliverables with little supervisionLegal authorization to work in GermanyDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityFluency in the Syrian Arabic dialect and proficiency in English required; proficiency in Kurdish preferred
