Introduction

Crown Agents is pleased to be recruiting a passionate, experienced Team Leaderto contribute to a programme that seeks to improve the economic governance and business environment of Lebanon to unlock the countries prosperity potential.

About the role

The Team Leader will lead overall implementation of the programme. The Team Leader will be responsible for representing the programme to, and maintaining strong working relationships with, Lebanese government officials and relevant stakeholders. The Team Leader will develop strong relationships with Crown Agents staff and provide management and leadership of the wider project team, and the effective delivery of the project on time and to budget.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Proactively build and maintain positive, productive working relationships with key project stakeholdersManage relationships with the client in Lebanon and the UK, and other relevant programmes in LebanonProactively seek to share knowledge with, coordinate programme inputs and learn from other interested stakeholdersProvide strategic direction to the programme and drive the overall implementation in-country, ensuring a politically informed approach is embeddedDay-to-day management of the programme, including technical and financial decision-making (within agreed limits, seeking approval where necessary)Management of the wider in-country team including short term technical assistanceTeam management and mentoring, supporting and challenging the wider team to achieve optimal performanceEffective financial management and reporting, ensuring value for moneyEnsure compliance with safeguarding, security, and other policiesRegular reporting to Crown Agents Project Manager, as well as fulfilment of contractual reporting to the clientLead the development and implementation of the programme s approach to monitoring, learning and knowledge management, ensuring a politically informed approach is embeddedAbout youMaster s Degree and/or Professional Qualification (or equivalent) in Economics, Public Policy or related degreeExperienced DFID Team Leader, preferably for programmes over 10 million in valueAt least 12 years experience working with government and private sector institutions supporting investment climate and economic governance reformsSectoral expertise preferred (electricity, roads, water, waste management)Solid understanding of governance and economic reform and infrastructure stakeholders in LebanonExperience managing adaptive donor-funded programmesDedicated capacity to undertake continuous political economy analysis to inform the team s work, and capacity to design and apply a conflict- and gender-sensitive approachExceptional leadership, management and communication skills, including proven ability to manage relationships with senior members of government and donorsExcellent communication skills in English (speaking and writing)This is a field position based in LebanonAbout us
