Child Protection Program Support

The Role
The Child Protection Program Support post is responsible for providing overall program and partnership support to the Child Protection (CP) component of the SIDA CSO Appropriations Award.

This work includes:
(1) Managing the coordination and timely support for three
(2) civil society partners under the Sida CSO grant;
(3) Assisting in project/program monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL);
(4) Providing coordination support in the conduct of campaigns, advocacy and capacity-building activities related to the Sida CSO CP Component;
(5) Assisting in the preparation of project close-out requirements (e.g. completion of project reports, completion of internal submissions). The position will be supervised by the Manager for the Sida CSO Child Protection Component (CP Manager) and will closely coordinate with the CP Adviser and with the CP focal persons and Sida partner managers in the Luzon/Visayas and Mindanao field offices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential
* At least 3 years experience in working in partnership with and providing support to civil society groups NGOs, community-based organizations or people s organizations, and/or government agencies;
* Preferably with a degree in Community Development, Social Sciences or equivalent experience;
* Knowledgeable on the concepts of human rights, empowering civil society, local governance, children s rights, child development and child protection;
* Skilled and experienced in project management and the project cycle development of proposals, budget monitoring and grant management;
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, to persuade and influence, listen, generate trust and motivate;
* Capable of raising awareness and training organization staff, partners and key stakeholders on child protection;
* Preferably with skills and experience in child protection work such as advocating to put an end to corporal punishment of children, positive discipline, building/strengthening child protection systems, and prevention and response to violence against children including gender-based violence and exploitation;
* Skills and experience in empowering children and communities (e.g., communication, facilitation, negotiation, training) an advantage; Can work well in highly stressful situations;
* A team player who is willing to work long hours towards the attainment of program objectives and deliverables;
* Must have a high sense of urgency and well-developed work ethic; and
* Has a basic understanding of Save the Children s core principles, vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives; willing to adopt Save the Children s theory of change in program implementation.

Contract length: Fixed Term position for 2 months (with possible extension) based in Makati City
