Our Vacancy

For strengthening and supporting our Water Resources & Sanitary Engineeringteam we are looking for a committed and experienced Water Supply Engineer (f/m/d)with experience in consulting in project of donor-financed international development cooperation at the earliest possible. In this position, you will be responsible for project acquisition and the technical and organisational coordination of projects, including assumption of responsibility for results. You will also act as expert in international projects during short-term assignments. Moreover, you will be involved in shaping the acquisition policy and teamwork by guiding and training local or international employees.

Your Main Duties in this PositionDuring Project Acquisition:Contacts with clients (ministries / development banks) and pursuit of project approaches at an early stageParticipation in the preparation of pre-qualifications / expressions of interest and independent follow-up, including early contact with potential local partner companies and potential candidates for international and national expert positionsResponsible preparation of proposals including staff organization, preparation and / or coordination of the professional proposal, preparation of financial proposals and technical processingFor on-going projects:Coordination and accompanying monitoring of the activities of the project teamQuality assuring and quality controlling backstopping from Cologne and, if required, on siteProactive coordination of project progress and milestones with clients and project partnersSchedule control (assistance in meeting deadlines) during reporting and editing of project reportsMonitoring of compliance with invoicing deadlinesFollow-up of invoices issued in coordination with the project controllersPreparation of project extensions and development of the acquisition potential of current projectsAs a technical expert (f/m/d) for short-term assignments:Technical and financial project responsibilityTeam leader or project team expertFulfilment of the technical tasks according to the project specifications or Terms of ReferenceResponsible report writing or coordination of report writingCoordination with project partners and local departments of the clientResponsibility for on-time monthly invoicing of project costs Your Expertise / Profile for this PositionFull academic qualification (MSc. or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering or similarAt least 5 years proven work experience in international consulting development projects with focus on water supply related schemesAbility to verify tender documents (calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.)Fluent language skills (oral and written) in German, English and preferably French, additional language skills in Spanish would be an advantageDistinct communication skills as well as report writing skillsAbility to work effectively in teams as well as being a self-starter personalityMobility (also on short-notice) and willingness to work on project assignmentsAbility to work under time-pressure Your Perspectives in this PositionChallenging and wide-ranging position in an international working environmentOpen, modern and global corporate culturePosition with high flexibility and development possibilitiesRemuneration package with 13 annual salaries as well as allowances for international projectsFlexible working time model with the possibility to work temporarily from home office
