ABOUT HUMAN APPEAL:

Human Appeal international (HA) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation that works in 25 countries around the world since 1991.

BACKGROUND:

HA is a 25 year old organisation that recently registered in Iraq. HA is an INGO that provides emergency aid and services to people affected by the conflict in Iraq. HA works in a variety of sectors which include; education, food and livelihood, WASH, shelter and others.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of and adherence to logistic and procurement procedures and provides logistical support to HA Projects in Iraq. In addition, security matters will be handled by the logistics officer with relevant authorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Ensure that all procurement is done according to HA policies and guidelines and that the paper-trail is always intact. This includes preparation of tender documents, establishing relevant tender committees, upkeep of a suppliers list and a procurement tracker, etc. keep a{<5h

2.Communication with relevant departments on procurement status on daily and weekly bases.

3.Follow-up all crossing borders process to ensure that HA shipments crossed the border and received by Field team.

4.Follow up with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely and effective supply and delivery of goods, services, and works.

5.Participating in Establish and maintain efficient Warehouse Management at HA managed facilities. This includes training of staff in proper procedures and setting up of warehouse, ie. Stocktaking, stacking techniques, shelving, pest control etc.

6.Asset management, including control of asset requisition, movement, and upkeep of an assets list etc. es and

7.Prepare monthly/quarterly reports by: updating inventory lists, stock report, and procurement tracking sheet and update the project on procurement status report.

8.Assist in acquisition and maintenance of transport services as per HA policy and keep an efficient fleet management system.

9.Ensure all logistical office and guesthouse needs are covered.

10.Follow-up all crossing borders process to ensure that HA shipments.

11.Manage all permissions and security circumstances.

12.Any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

1- Relevant University degree.

2- Minimum of 2 years successful experience in Logistic and procurement in Humanitarian Organisation.

3- Computer literate and competent with Microsoft office and other data management systems, as required.

4- Excellent verbal & oral communication skills

*Good verbal and written in English,

* Arabic.

5- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and prioritise work to deadlines.

6- Can work independently, i.e. with minimal supervision.

7- Well-developed organisational and planning skills.

8- Punctuality and respect for rules and procedures.

9- Ability to work as part of a team and independently, with minimal supervision and well under pressure.

10- Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data.

11- Driving license holder.
