Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated five year USAID teacher education and school strengthening activity in Egypt. The project aims to develop the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) school system across Egypt through STEM teacher education and school strengthening. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction Supervise technical and administrative staff Serve as the primary liaison with USAID and international and regional partners Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriateDirect implementation of the project's strategic vision Oversee performance management and strategic communications
Qualifications:Master's degree in public policy, education, international development, or a relevant field from an accredited university required; Ph.D. degree preferred Minimum 15 years of applicable technical and professional experience in the successful implementation of international development programs, including substantial experience in education reform projects at school and university levels, preferably STEM education programsExperience in pre and in-service teacher education reform Experience in policy and system reformKnowledge of the education system in EgyptExperience supervising staff on complex projects Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity Fluency in English (writing and speaking) required; fluency in Arabic preferred
