Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. SI s mission is to improve the effectiveness of international development programs in improving people s lives. We provide a full range of management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations, and policies. We provide services globally in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, project and program design, organizational capacity building, and gender and social analysis. SI services cross-cut all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. SI s clients include US government agencies such as USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the US Department of State, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and non-profits.
SI is planning to bid on a DFID Monitoring, Evidence, Learning, and Review (MELR), which is estimated to be a five year initiative to provide support to the health sector in Sierra Leone through its Saving Lives in Sierra Leone (SLISL) program. The MELR component is intended to provide comprehensive, accurate, and informative reporting on the progress SISL program has made and provide technical advice and coherence of the SLISL results framework.
SI is seeking a Capacity Building Specialist who will be responsible for developing the capacity of SLISL and the Government of Sierra Leone in M&E for their health initiatives. The project is anticipated to be over five years.
Responsibilities:Assess SLISL and GOSL M&E capacity, developing capacity development plans, and organizing and managing the implementation of all capacity building activities. Lead the development of activities related to capacity building in monitoring and evaluation. Undertake field visits as required to conduct assessments, training or other activities in the field.
Qualifications:Advanced degree in a relevant field required.Minimum of seven years proven work experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation and institutional capacity building.Demonstrated skills in M&E system design, methodologies (quantitative and qualitative) and approaches, as well as reporting for various donors.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with host country counterparts and government officials.Knowledge of country and sectoral context in health and health management information systems (HMIS).
Fluency in English is mandatory.
